This work re-examines the relationship between the elements that make up the quality of space, namely: "subject" and "object", "organic" and "mechanical", "reality" and "representation", "wholeness" and "partiality", " determinacy” and “indeterminacy”, “visibility” and “invisibility”, “natural” and “non-natural”.

Buko and is striving to protect the natural environment and cultural ground that inhabit the local area. Idomu’s will / last request. Spiritual journey with Mt.Buko folklore and mountain Gods (Kami-sama). An important message that the director saw after surviving a near-death experience and depression. ...Why don’t the flowers grow in the right places? Where have all the cute children gone?...

Oasis is a critique of the overwhelming mass society that consumes us and emphasizes the need to stop, to find calm: an oasis in the midst of the desert.

Born In Summer

A filmmaker plays with diary-docu and fiction as his camera joins his ventures into a phone dating club. Bored to death, hormones running, and desperately wanting to talk to someone his own age (preferably a girl), he walks into a local phone dating club. Can he hook up with someone? Borrowing the form of a diary-movie, the director unfurls an unpredictable and imaginative look into his own persona. 8mm experimental film by Murakami Kenji, the film that made his name.

Nostalgia for the Lake

A vision from Limbo, where the canoeist of the eternal lake floats in his boat, between sleep and wakefulness. When he sleeps, he dreams of the everyday of a parallel time. when he wakes up, the same song haunts him again and again. his boat, “ara” (time, in guarani) travels through time like a shooting star.

Mother of Fog

In what could be considered a follow up to Al Qasimi’s 2020 work Mother of Fire, she once again invokes the figure of the jinn (spirits in Islamic mythology) to explore the ghosts of British imperialism in the UAE. As its spectre lingers on the horizon, two teenage girls seek to liberate a pirate damned to spend purgatory on a site now being developed into a hotel. Originally commissioned for Sharjah Biennial 15: Thinking Historically in the Present, Al Qasimi entangles historical narratives with contemporary notions of piracy. In examining how it has been historically and culturally represented, new perspectives of old mythographies come into focus. (Myriam Mouflih)

atariko proba

While trying to use a random video processing app I programed for a series of shorts based on old basque footage, the program got buggy and produced very glitchy and broken images. I thought this preliminar test (atariko proba) gone wrong deserved to be a short on its own, so here it is. This has been made from footage of these movies, several of them digitized and shared by Euskadiko Filmategia: Biarritz : la plage et la mer (Félix Mesguich, 1899) , Irun (1912), Eusko-ikusgaiak (Manuel Intxausti, 1923), El día de Guipúzcoa (Agustín Macasoli, 1924), Los apuros de Octavio (Hermanos Azcona, 1926), Fiestas de Plencia (Leon Armando Zalvidea, 1927), San Fermín (1928), El mayorazgo de Basterretxe (Hermanos Azcona, 1929). Vestige

A room-scale VR creative documentary that uses multi-narrative and volumetric live capture to take the viewer on a journey into the mind of Lisa as she remembers her lost love, Erik. Within an empty void, fragments of past memories appear of their life together.

Zen for Film

In an endless loop, unexposed film runs through the projector. The resulting projected image shows a surface illuminated by a bright light, occasionally altered by the appearance of scratches and dust particles in the surface of the damaged film material. This a film which depicts only its own material qualities; An "anti-film", meant to encourage viewers to focus on the lack of concrete images.

Shadows

Hansjürgen Pohland's short documentary is an audiovisual study that captures events and people on the streets on film. The special feature of the work is that the people and objects are portrayed exclusively through their shadows.
